COMMUNITY CONSULTATION HAS CONCLUDED.

At Ordinary Council meeting held on 20 June 2022, Council passed a resolution for a workshop to be held to consider Council’s role in the ongoing maintenance of District Council of Grant Halls with consideration of:

  • Rights and obligations under lease (insurance, repairs and maintenance obligations etc.)
  • Hall ownership
  • Governance and Financial sustainability
  • Effectiveness of Council Community Hall Grants

The aim of the workshop will be to review financial sustainability of hall groups/committees and to better understand the cost pressures associated with running a Community Hall. Council will then consider its role in supporting hall groups/committees with the aim to formulate an agreed and consistent strategy of support and leasing arrangements.

Without the support of Hall groups/committees this strategic review would not be possible, Council would appreciate if you could take the time to complete the survey.
