Help the District Council of Grant plan the future of the Mount Gambier Regional Airport.
The District Council of Grant are looking for community / business nominees with passion for aviation to join an Aviators Jury who will provide critical input into the Airport’s strategic vision and goals. This information will inform Council’s Airport Master Plan over the next 4 – 10 years.
Background
The Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan is a document created for the purpose of ensuring continual improvement, sustainability, accountability and growth of the Airport. The Master Plan also outlines longer term goals for the Airport, its tenants and its management team.
The objectives and functions of the Aviators Jury include:
Provide appropriate advice and recommendations of matters relevant to the vision for the Airport and to convey the views of the various user groups,
Report and inform user groups on the progress of the review and decisions made by Council,
Identify and comment on stakeholder concerns,
Participate and engage in forums for discussion of project related issues,
Provide advice to Council on the operations of key Airport services and to make recommendations to Council on potential improvements regarding the operation of those services,
Make recommendations to Council on proposed Capital Investment for future infrastructure and development,
Contribute to the vision, direction and goals of the Mount Gambier Regional Airport via the Airport Master Plan.
The Aviators Jury will meet voluntarily in-person on two occasions for approximately 1.5 hours each within standard business hours. The first will occur in early May 2024 at the Mount Gambier Regional Airport, and the second in the third quarter of 2024.
Interested parties should note limited Jury Member positions are available and at the discretion of the District Council of Grant.
Submissions must be provided to Council by close of business Friday 19 April 2024. Hard copy submissions can be addressed to PO Box 724, Mount Gambier SA 5290 or sent via email to info@dcgrant.sa.gov.au.

The District Council of Grant has commenced engaging with aviation specialists and community members to review the Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan.
Representatives from a variety of aviation fields, businesses and the general community formed an Aviator’s Jury to consider the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the Mount Gambier Regional Airport, and consider the future projects and direction of the Airport.
The current Airport Master Plan 2016-2026 can be viewed on Council’s website.
The broader community will have an opportunity to have their say and inform the new Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan later in 2024.
