Playground Upgrades - Carpenter Rocks
Have your say on the Carpenter Rocks playground upgrade.
The District Council of Grant have identified that some existing playground infrastructure within the area requires attention and Council are being proactive to repair, maintain and/or replace this equipment.
Playground upgrades have been included in Council’s major project works program for the 2022/2023 financial year, following the receival of Federal Government stimulus funding. The stimulus funding is being provided by the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
The following locations are included in the project works package and will have works carried out to bring the existing playgrounds up to date/compliant with the Australian Standards:
- Blackfellows Caves
- Carpenter Rocks
- Donovans
- Kongorong
- Mount Schank
- Nene Valley
- Port MacDonnell
- Tarpeena
- Yahl
Due to significant works involved, Council will be seeking feedback from the community to determine what equipment will be best suited for those that require replacement. A staged community engagement approach will be taken to present options to each township.
The Carpenter Rocks community is currently being asked to vote on their preferred playground equipment options and colours between Friday, 9 September and Thursday, 29 September 2022.
Council staff have carefully researched and considered equipment options for the playground based on availability, suitability, budget and on going maintenance.
Residents and visitors of the area are encouraged to review the playground options proposed and vote for your most preferred via the survey below. A hard copy survey can be downloaded in the documents section or picked up at Council's Principal Office or Carpenter Rocks General Store.
Additional feedback is welcome for future improvements to the playground, however this feedback will be considered by Council in future budgets.
