Background
The Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan is a document created for the purpose of ensuring continual improvement, sustainability, accountability and growth of the Airport.
The last Master Plan created for the Mount Gambier Regional Airport was endorsed in 2016 and was known as the Mount Gambier Airport Master Plan 2016 - 2026. It was identified that the majority of actions within that Master Plan have been completed, resulting in the creation of a new Master Plan anticipated to be actionable from early 2025.
What is proposed?
The Draft Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan 2025 - 2035 has been shaped by adhering to regulatory and government policy requirements and incorporating perspectives through collaboration with key aviation stakeholders who formed an Aviator's Jury, Elected Members and Council staff.
A series of short-term, long-term and advocacy projects have been developed based on feedback from stakeholders and are proposed to be pursued by the District Council of Grant over the next 5-10 years. The key projects detailed in the Draft Airport Master Plan include:

Now it's your turn to have a say on the Mount Gambier Regional Airport's future. The District Council of Grant are inviting you to submit your feedback in the Draft Airport Master Plan and the proposed key projects.
Feedback can be submitted by:
- Completing the online feedback form below
- Emailing info@dcgrant.sa.gov.au
- Writing a letter or completing a hard copy feedback form address to the District Council of Grant, PO Box 724, Mount Gambier SA 5290
Hard copies of the Draft Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan 2025 -2035 and feedback form are available at:
- Principal Office: 324 Commercial Street West, Mount Gambier; and
- Mount Gambier Regional Airport: Airport Road, Wandilo.
Feedback will be accepted until 5:00pm 22 November 2024.
Next steps
Feedback submitted during the consultation period will be reviewed by Council staff and amendments to the Draft Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan will be made where appropriate. A refined Airport Master Plan will then be presented to Council on Monday 16 December 2024 for endorsement.
